The Humboldt Hoo-Hoo Club is a proud supporter of the local community. Through our membership fundraising, we support a variety of community services and provide financial support to students who want to study forestry and related disciplines.

Hospice of Humboldt was founded in 1978 by a small group of volunteers including Dr. Larry Hill, Jay Rezzonico, Dr. Elmer Larsen, Arlene Brazeau, RN, and Margret Soderberg, RN. We saw our first patient in January 1979. Hospice of Humboldt is a stand-alone non-profit, not affiliated with any hospital or medical practice. We are governed by a volunteer Board of Directors. All donations to Hospice of Humboldt are tax-deductible.

The Discovery Museum is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing a stimulating educational environment for Humboldt County. Our mission emphasizes interactive, open-ended discovery in the areas of science, art, culture, technology, and healthy living. Our goal is to help future generations prepare for the information age and a global society by letting them “try-on” a career, explore their universe, understand other cultures, discover their own abilities, appreciate their community, and most importantly…develop a lifelong passion for learning.
Seniors and their caregivers in Humboldt County will have a high-quality life with dignity, health, and self-determination in a community of respect and tolerance. The Humboldt Senior Resource Center is committed to providing services, information, education and recreation for seniors, families and caregivers in Humboldt County. We envision a caring and healthy community which encourages intergenerational relationships, recognizes the wisdom and experience of its elders and demonstrates awareness and respect for the aging process.
And at HLF we are inspired to help open the world of the library for kids and families, for lifelong learners, for anyone who wants to reach for the treasures that lie within. We are thrilled to be a part of the magic of learning — the thrill of discovery that lights up the face of a young reader, or for the teen finding the latest graphic novel. You’ve felt it, too — finding a new author, or exploring a new genre, or the simple pleasure of listening to a down loadable audio book. Learning is challenging and fun and the library is the place where you already own it – it is accessible and free.
